Major Contracts with American Bridge for Dam Renovation Projects

Moran Iron Works (MIW), a leading provider of high-quality steel fabrication services, recently obtained two contracts with American Bridge, a major bridge construction company headquartered in Pennsylvania. Under the 4-year contracts, totaling a combined value of over $21 million, MIW will undertake the fabrication of 18 radial gates, each measuring 37 ft x 50ft, for installation by American Bridge in dams owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Tennessee and Kentucky.

The contracts mark a major milestone for MIW, solidifying the company's position as a trusted partner for large-scale infrastructure projects worldwide; MIW was chosen among several national fabricators. As part of the agreement, American Bridge will oversee the on-site assembly of the gates, while MIW will play a crucial role in the testing, disassembly, marking for field assembly, and shipping of the gates to the designated sites.

With a strong track record in delivering exceptional results, MIW was selected for its proven capabilities and commitment to quality. The company's advanced manufacturing facility, located in Onaway, Michigan, will serve as the testing ground for the gates before they are prepared for shipment. The MIW team’s attention to detail and adherence to rigorous quality control measures ensure that the gates will be ready for seamless assembly upon arrival at their respective locations.

The collaboration between MIW and American Bridge highlights the collective effort to enhance and maintain critical infrastructure while upholding the highest standards of safety and reliability.

“Moran Iron Works provided a comprehensive plan to execute the complex fabrication for this project, which instilled a lot of confidence with American Bridge. We were impressed with the care and attention to detail Moran showed. That, combined with their past experience on similar jobs, AISC certification, and obvious capacity for an order of this size, made the choice to partner with them easy,” stated Neil Napolitano, Vice President of Operations for American Bridge.

The contracts not only demonstrate MIW's continued growth and success but also reaffirm the company's dedication to serving clients with integrity and excellence. By leveraging its state-of-the-art facilities, highly skilled workforce, and commitment to innovation, MIW remains at the forefront of the steel fabrication industry.
