PROJECT MANAGER

GOAL

To professionally manage and execute projects for success from award to completion.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

  1. Complete all projects in accordance with the department specific process and procedures as defined in the project Management Manual.

  2. Accountable and responsible for the success of all projects under their management.

  3. Handling all aspects of the project from award (estimating handoff) to completion (delivery).

  4. Coordination of all project specific procedures/tasks/deliverables.

  5. Communicating and collaborates project goals and expectations with all departments.

  6. Initiates and sets up the project specific execution plan and team kick-off meeting.

  7. Coordination of all project specific meetings, insuring all required personnel attend.

  8. Manage and prioritize Project Manager Assistant(s) duties and tasks.

  9. Responsible for all customer correspondence, verbal and written.

  10. Responsible for keeping Sales and Marketing updated on project deliverables.

  11. Evaluate project scope as it compares to project estimate on a weekly basis and update the Estimating
    department accordingly on internal/external change orders.

  12. Review project financials, update project WIP, project Expense report and report out during the Weekly project update meetings.

  13. Maintains project check list.

  14. Responsible for setting and posting what project success looks like, Project plan, and schedule.

  15. Responsible for publishing job specific postings as required for MIW procedures.

  16. Develop and maintain the project specific master schedule and manpower loading projecting hours required to finish using input from the shop supervisor and the efficiency report.

  17. Develop and maintain the project log.

  18. Maintain project documentation and properly file on the Public drive.

  19. Facilitate project specific job releases.

  20. Responsible for completion of the project specific progress reports and provide to the customer as well as the MIW sales representative.

  21. Communicate with the Accounting department to ensure invoicing lines up with the milestone schedule and/or the invoicing schedule.

  22. Schedule barge logistics for projects that require barging.

    • Standard working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. may vary at times in relation to work load.

    • Arrives to work 10-15 minutes prior to the start of scheduled shift.

    • Standard working hours are from 7:00am to 3:00pm or as required to accomplish project goals and
      expectations.

    • Ensure work responsibilities are covered when out of office.

    • Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.

    • Assesses own strengths and weaknesses.

    • Pursues training and development opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience

    • 3-5 years

  • Education​

    • High School Diploma/G.E.D.

    • Associate Degree or Bachelor preferred

  • Knowledge Required:

    • Mathematics​

    • Engineering & Technology

      • Mechanical, drafting, detailing, design experience a plus

      • Steel background with understanding of welding and fabrication a plus

    • English Language

      • Contract review and technical documents/specifications

    • Computers & Electronics

      • QuickBooks experience a plus

      • ​Experience in Auto CAD a plus

      • Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel
