Project Description: Moran Iron Works, Inc. reverse engineered and fabricated replacement Screen Basket Assemblies for Traveling Water Screens located inthe water intake system of a steam generating plant.
-Basket frames fabricated of formed type 316 stainless steel.
-Screens of type 316 stainless steel woven wire cloth with wire size and openings custom to customer requirements.
-Formed type 316 stainless steel debris plates.
-All bolting hardware of type 316 stainless steel with locknuts.
-Neoprene rubber seal for assembly to assembly connection at installation.
-Type 316 stainless steel screen retainer bars provided to enable replacement of screens only in the future.
By working with the customer to provide a custom replacement component to their specifications, Moran Iron Works, Inc. was able to greatly reduce delivery time, and cost to the customer when compared to standard OEM replacement parts. After establishing the customer expected annual usage, we have been fabricating the assemblies in larger quantities, and stocking them for quick delivery when ordered by the customer. This efficiency of scale, has led to reduced cost per unit for the customer.
