Moran Iron Works - High Wire Corridor
The need for an expanded pathway to the
Great Lakes shipping lanes has been met with the High Wire
Corridor. Moran Iron Works, in cooperation with Presque Isle
County and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation has
funded a grant to raise utility lines along a route from Onaway
to Rogers City, where large pieces of equipment or industrial
components can be hauled to Calcite, a deep water port, and
shipped by barge to nearly any place on the Great Lakes and
beyond.
Field work is expensive. Moran Iron Works cuts the expense
of time spent assembling and installing at the jobsite by
completing more fabrication in our shop. We have the equipment
and expertise to handle and ship massive assemblies, and our
access to the Great Lakes gives us an edge over our competitors.
