Industrial Fabrication & Repair
Moran Iron Works has the capabilities to
fabricate and preform repairs on a wide range of industrial
components. From Stainless Steel Exhaust Silencers for large
reciprocating engines to Cable Reels that are large enough
to hold several tons of underground cable, Moran Iron Works
is qualified to tackle the job.
41 Ton Exhaust Stack, Spring 2005
This 41 Ton Exhaust Stack was fabricated in our facilities
and is the first example of what can be seen making its way
towards Lake Huron via the High Wire Corridor. It measures
48 feet in length, and 19 feet in diameter and is destined
for the Serverstal N.A. Plant (formerly the Ford Rouge Plant),
a steel mill in River Rouge, Michigan. Moran Iron Works subcontracted
Durocher Marine of Cheboygan to float the stack to its final
destination.
Bag-house Project, Summer 2005
Fourteen Bag-houses were fabricated at the Moran Iron Works
Facilities for shipment via barge to Burns Harbor, Indiana.
There, the bag-houses will serve as roof top units for Mittal
Steel, Burns Harbor Division. These units will act as air
filters by collecting dust and debris produced by the steel
mill before it can be released into the atmosphere. Because
of our close proximity to the Great Lakes, Moran Iron was
able to fabricate, paint, and ship these units as a completed
product saving our customer money by eliminating costly field
assembly.
Turbine Silencers and Roof Units
Exhaust silencers for large reciprocating engines are another
area in which Moran Iron Works excels. In many cases old,
mild steel systems are reverse engineered and new stainless
steel silencers are fabricated to the same specifications.
Cable Reel
Companies that manufacture large diameter cable for use underground
/ underwater require spools to contain their product. Enter
Moran Iron Works, a leader in Industrial Fabrication. We were
able to fabricate portable reels of varying sizes for our
customer to store and lay cable around the world.
