Safety at Moran Iron Works
- Safety:
At Moran Iron Works, Inc. we care about the Safety and Health of our employees,
and are committed to making it a top priority. We have an active process to
instill safety values in each employee and regularly implement programs to
reinforce safety practices. We are dedicated to preventing accidents and their
associated costs by averting, eliminating, or mitigating unsafe acts and conditions.
Our goal is "Zero", and by working together we can prevent accidents and
injuries.
Moran Iron Works Safety Manual
- Commitment:
Moran Iron Works, Inc.’s management is responsible for protecting its employees, the
public, and the environment. Management provides effective leadership to ensure
the safety of their operations at all times.
Employees are committed to working safely, following policies and procedures,
stopping "at risk" behavior, and notifying management of any unsafe work
areas or processes.
- Training:
- Extensive Training is provided to all of our employees. Training is carried out in
house by our Safety Committee team, made up of employees, management and supervisors,
and led by our Safety Director. Safety training and coaching is an ongoing process
whether at our client’s site or in our facility. All employees are required
to attend regular monthly Safety meetings, as well as an extensive annual training
course for MSHA (Mine, Safety, and
Health Administration). Our Safety Committee members and Safety
Director attend several training courses and seminars each year to continuously
improve our safety program and make sure that we have the knowledge and tools to
conform to the latest safety practices.
- Compliance:
- Moran Iron Works, Inc. complies with applicable regulations, codes, and standards
in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA), Michigan Occupational
Safety and Health Administration
(MIOSHA),
Mine Safety and Health Administration
(MSHA), as well as our customer’s
site specific safety regulations, codes, and standards when we are working at their sites.
By developing and enforcing procedures that provide guidance to employees,
subcontractors, and visitors regarding procedural compliance and their responsibility,
Moran Iron Works, Inc. is continually improving our Health and Safety program.
